Summary:

Entry LevelGeologist: Performs under supervision, work that is varied in nature, and technically complex, and at times physically challenging. Attention to detail, data, evaluation, and originality or ingenuity is required. Work will include general geological or hydrogeological assignments, environmental due diligence studies, and site remediation efforts that require field assignments, and preparation of technical documents. Work tasks associated with environmental projects are performed in accordance with RCRA, CERCLA and other appropriate state and federal regulations.

Your Role:

  • Review, comprehension, and completion of work scopes.
  • Communicate with senior staff on site conditions and make field determinations based on site data.
  • Interpret basic geologic information; prepare boring logs, cross sections, and groundwater flow maps.
  • Perform project tasks on government, public and private sector environmental projects.
  • Significant involvement as team member on field tasks including multi-media sampling, well installations, landfill-gas sampling, investigative derived waste management, etc.
  • Potential to perform groundwater and/or surface water modeling tasks.
  • Preparation of geographic information system (GIS) maps.
  • Assist in data evaluation and report preparation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in geology.
  • Entry level up to five years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software and ability to compose via computer is desirable.
  • Must be able to work effectively with other technical professionals.
  • Neat legible handwriting is mandatory.
  • Ability to perform and maintain rigorous detailed documentation of field activities.
  • Ability to read, research, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical documents and procedures, and government regulations, and write detailed reports, business correspondence, and procedures suitable for client submittal.
  • Capacity to effectively present information, communicate, and respond to questions from groups of coworkers, clients, customers, and the general-public.
  • Bilingual capability (Spanish) is a plus.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour refresher training, preferred.
  • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
