We are currently seeking a highly qualified Geomorphologist (Mid-Level) to join our team. The qualified candidate will have at least 2 years professional experience with up to 5 years of experience. Specific experience in Pacific Northwest geomorphology, glacial geology, and hydrology/water resource is required. Typical project responsibilities may include field surveys; geomorphic assessments; hydrologic, hydraulic, and sediment transport analyses; watershed studies; channel migration zone/flood hazard mapping; and support of stream and river restoration designs.

 

Essential Education, Experience and Responsibilities:

·         Master's degree in geology, geomorphology, hydrogeological sciences, or related field is required.

·         Emphasis in Fluvial Geomorphology is a plus. Pacific Northwest U.S. focus is also a plus.

·         Must have Geologist-in-Training (GIT) per Washington State Geologist Licensing Board Requirements (https://www.dol.wa.gov/business/geologist/index.html) with track of becoming a Licensed Geologist (LG) after gaining 5 years of experience (per State of Washington requirements) or equilvalent in another state.

·         Able and willing to travel for assignments, including multi-day or multi-week field work assignments across the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. and beyond. Travel could include up to 40% of time in first 3 years of employment.

·         Physical outdoor work is required.

·         Field work in stream and riverine settings and hiking up to 3-5 miles per day will occur frequently throughout the year.

·         Knowledge of and the ability to lead in preparation of geomorphology documents/documentation, floodplain and watershed study reports, and technical memoranda.

·         Experience with ArcGIS or ArcPro is required.

·         Ability to create, edit, and work with ArcGIS from topographic survey points and LiDAR DEM or point cloud data sets and to perform analyses for channel migration zone analyses, habitat suitability, and high-quality map production.

·         Good writing skills and ability to produce quality technical reports.

·         Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and project responsibilities.

·         Detail-oriented, with strong technical skills, including data management, analysis, and QA/QC.

·         Responsible, equally suited to working independently or in a team environment involving a suite of professionals with expertise in water resources engineering, hydrology, biology, and geomorphology.

·         A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.

·         Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

·         Career experience in Fluvial Geomorphology or related field not required but favorable.

·         Familiarity with AutoCADD, Civil 3D, and/or HEC-RAS a plus.

·         General working knowledge of necessary land survey techniques, including use of RTK-GPS, Total Station equipment, as well as software such as Trimble Business Center, and drone surveys.

·         Commitment to safety, quality management, continuous improvement, and client satisfaction.

·         Team focus and ability to compromise.

·         Willingness to take on any task assigned, good work ethic.

·         Good written and verbal communication skills.

 

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000yr.

 

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
