The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in engineering principles, particularly related to energy and renewable energy projects, and will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to support a variety of projects. This role offers the opportunity to grow professionally in a supportive and innovative environment.
Your Role:
· Assist in the design and implementation of energy-related projects, particularly focusing on renewable energy initiatives such as solar power.
· Design and implement erosion and sediment control practices.
· Manage stormwater quality and infrastructure projects from planning through to maintenance.
· Apply civil and environmental engineering principles to various project aspects including site layout, grading, and utility impacts.
· Utilize industry-standard software to perform engineering tasks and create project deliverables.
· Communicate effectively with team members, project managers, and clients to ensure project success.
· Maintain strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
· Ensure compliance with environmental regulations in all project activities.
Qualifications:
· B.S. or M.S. in an Engineering related major.
· 1-2 years of experience in engineering design for energy-related projects.
· Experience with renewable energy projects, preferably solar in utility-scale and distribution generation projects.
· Experience with the design of erosion and sediment control practices.
· Experience with planning, designing, construction, and maintenance of stormwater infrastructure and BMPs.
· Passing of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT) is preferred.
· Understanding of surface water quality, stormwater quality, and stormwater management in construction and post-construction settings.
· Working knowledge of civil and environmental engineering principles including grading, site layout, wetland impacts, entrances, traffic, utilities, etc.
· Proficiency in industry-standard computer software for the position (e.g. HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS).
· Strong Microsoft (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project) and other engineering software tool skills.
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Demonstrated capabilities in understanding and applying environmental regulations to real-world situations.
· Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
· Ability to work on several tasks and projects simultaneously.
· Ability to work well under the direction of more senior engineers and with project managers.
· Ability to work well with a team.
· A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.
· Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
