Tetra Tech, Inc. specializes in the recovery of communities after being significantly impacted by disasters or weather events. We are currently hiring for Quality Control Waterways Monitors. Employees in this position are the "on-site" monitor for the removal, and possibly, disposal of disaster generated debris from waterways. As a waterway monitor, you will document who removed debris, what type of debris was removed, where the debris was removed from and when it was removed.
This position is for immediate work, no physical labor, no experience required because training will be provided to you. We are looking for self-motivated, responsible, dedicated individuals with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision. Job Responsibilities:
- Observes and documents the debris operations, ensuring conformity with the requirements of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Public Assistance (FEMA PA) Program, and the specific directions of the supervisors and project manager.
- Confirm that the hauling contractors are loading only eligible storm related debris, which is on public rights-of-way or property, and that they are not going on to private property to collect debris.
- Ensures documentation is concise, complete, and accurate (Load Tickets, Daily Reports of Activities, Incident Reports, Logs, Damage Reports, etc.)
- Verifies the location(s) of assigned loading sites daily, accurately recording them on Load Tickets (including GPS coordinates, if applicable).
- Ensuring that debris clean up complies with federal regulations.
- Recognizes eligible vs. ineligible debris, and ensures debris is not collected from ineligible areas unless specifically directed by the client.
- Completes a Daily Log of all field activities.
- Brief Supervisor on day's activities, debris collection progress, issues, or problems.
Job Requirements
- Own reliable transportation, available for all day use.
- Comfortable working on the water on a boat for extended periods of time.
- Ability to use a smart phone.
- Willing and able to work 12 hours a day, 6-7 days a week, day shift only.
- Able to work outdoors and walk trails, paths and easements as required during the work day.
- Provide valid I9 documentation**
- Have a valid driver's license**
- Have good driving record.
In order to be considered for this position, your driving record must not indicate any of the following during the past 3 years:
- Punitive suspension, denial or revocation of driver's license
- Conviction for impaired or intoxicated driving (DWAI, DUI, DWI)
- Conviction of: reckless driving, driving with a suspended/denied/revoked license, hit and run or leaving the scene
- Conviction of 3 or more moving violations, at fault accidents or a combination
This position with Tetra Tech is temporary and on an "as needed" basis and will end. It is understood that your employment is to be on an "at will" basis.
