The opportunity

  • Full-time ongoing role based in Australia (in office, hybrid or remote)
  • Play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our operations and personnel globally.
  • Lead risk management strategies, develop and implement security policies, and provide training and support to teams working across dynamic and high-risk settings.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to implement safety and security processes across all projects.
  • Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Provide oversight for short-term travelers, including pre-travel briefings and in-country protocols.
  • Monitor global security trends and adapt strategies to evolving risks.
  • Lead incident response, post-incident reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train and support staff on security best practices and crisis management.
  • Engage with government, UN, and NGO partners to ensure robust crisis response capabilities.

 


Selection criteria

  • Certification or degree in security-related fields (preferred).
  • Extensive experience in security risk management, especially in international development or humanitarian settings.
  • Proven ability to manage safety in high-risk, conflict, or post-conflict areas.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Diplomatic and culturally sensitive with experience in Asia-Pacific contexts.
