The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is adding a Water/Wastewater Operations Technician to our Water team. This role will support a specific project for a six-to-nine-month duration, part-time as needed. The successful candidate will be an experienced, licensed operations professional with experience in municipal water and wastewater systems.

In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, software administration, training and knowledge transfer, reporting and quality control, and project coordination and review.

Position Summary:

The Water/Wastewater Operations Technician will provide specialized support in data management and operations reporting for municipal water and wastewater systems. This position will focus on software administration, training, quality control, and project coordination to ensure operational efficiency and data accuracy across systems.

 

Essential Job Functions:

The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:

  • Administer and maintain the HachWIMS and eRIS data management systems.

  • Ensure system functionality, data integrity, and user accessibility.

  • Provide training and ongoing support to the designated data analyst to ensure effective system use and reporting proficiency.

  • Develop, quality check (QC), and distribute monthly operations reports summarizing key performance metrics and operational data.

  • Prepare and deliver ad hoc reports as requested to support operational decision-making.

  • Review project designs and coordinate Operations Department review and input to ensure alignment with operational needs and data management requirements.

     

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of water or wastewater treatment experience at the operational level.

  • Proficiency in HachWIMS and eRIS data management systems.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time while working at a computer.

  • Occasional travel for meetings or site coordination (less than 10%).

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

 

Work Environment / Environmental Factors:

  • Standard indoor office environment.

  • Occasional exposure to typical field conditions during site coordination activities.

  • Employment Type: Part-time, temporary (six-to-nine-month duration).

  • Schedule: As needed, flexible hours based on project requirements.
