Schedule: Tuesday - Friday, 9hr day shifts.

Pay Range: $36.00 - $45.00 (based on experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology in all areas that pertain to the practice of respiratory care.
  • Understands disease processes and their impact on the cardiopulmonary system.
  • Maintains the functional accuracy of all laboratory instrumentation by performing routine maintenance and quality control as required by the equipment manufacturer and regulatory agencies.
  • Performs routine pulmonary diagnostic procedures
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of policies & procedures.
  • Ensure that all procedures are performed safely, consistently and accurately in accordance with policies & procedures.
  • Performs data collection, analysis, computation, and report generation for all tests performed.
  • Acts as a technical resource and support person for the pulmonary physicians and other ordering providers.
  • Maintains knowledge of the correct process for documentation of patient care and billing.
  • Participates in the training of students and orientation of new employees as needed.
  • Participates in patient and family education.
  • Assists in maintaining an adequate supply inventory.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of appropriate safety and infection control techniques.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with all members of the patient care team.
  • Actively guards the confidentiality of sensitive information including but not limited to the patients, staff and the health team.
  • Contributes to patient outcomes by participating in interdisciplinary processes.

    Qualifications:

    • Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
    • Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist by New York State Education Department, Office of the Professions (NYSED OP)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
    • Required - Graduate of a Commission of Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited Respiratory Therapy program - Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.)
    • Preferred - Graduate of a Commission of Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited Respiratory Therapy program - Bachelor of Science (B.S.)
    • Required - 3 years' experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)

     

    Pay Range: $36.00 - $45.00

    Starting Pay: Based on Experience
