Overview:
The Pay Center Specialist is a critical role on the centralized Payroll team and is responsible for processing and the maintenance of multi-state payroll for our Renewable Works temporary skilled labor workforce. The Pay Center Specialist reports directly to the Manager of Field Support and is a remote-work role located in the United States.

Responsibilities:
- Verifies timekeeping records and consults associates and clients about any discrepancies
- Obtains supervisory approval of timecard discrepancies
- Reviews and records payroll data in our software system and verifies all amounts prior to cutting checks or pay cards
- Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Maintains completed payout records for auditing purpose for both regular and certified payroll reporting
- Demonstrates knowledge of multi-state payroll, all Federal & State rules on overtime pay
- Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions and direct deposit information
- Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests
- Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Answers telephone inquiries regarding all aspects of payroll, insurance and other benefits
- Applies general knowledge of principles, practices & methods of office procedures and practices including records management and document processing
- Assists auditors (e.g. data, answers to questions, etc.) for the purpose of providing required information
- Processes incoming invoicing/payroll adjustments for workers and clients
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED or international equivalent required
- One year of college or technical training preferred, or high school diploma/GED and two to three years related experience and/or training
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs
- Knowledge of basic payroll and accounting principles
- Ability to maintain strict confidence with regards to sensitive and protected confidential information
- Very positive attitude and the ability to be empathetic and flexible
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Salary Range:
The salary for this position is anticipated to range between $18.00 and $19.50.
Pay is based on qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training and other considerations permitted by law. We consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with applicable law.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and/or hear for long periods of time. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds
