Summary of Job Duties: Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the organization's enterprise application systems and/or IT communications infrastructure.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 9 years of experience in two of the following Windows Server Administration, Storage Area Network Administration, UNIX Server Administration, Microsoft (MS) Active Directory Administration, MS SQL Server Administration, MS Internet Information Server, MS SharePoint Server, or Email Administration.
  • Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing server class hardware required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field of study with 5 years of experience in two of the following Windows Server Administration, Storage Area Network Administration, UNIX Server Administration, Microsoft (MS) Active Directory Administration, MS SQL Server Administration, MS Internet Information Server, MS SharePoint Server, or Email Administration.
  • Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing server class hardware required.
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and/or A+ Certification.
  • MS Office Tools: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; and/or Microsoft Project.


Additional Information:

  • Assist with documentation as necessary and with support efforts for overall architectural framework, information system development, maintenance, and process enhancements.
  • Understand customer request, process requirements and ensure they can be achieved through high quality deliverables.
  • Document the interactions between systems, applications, and services within the environment to ensure performance, reliability, enhance scalability, and meet security requirements.
  • Use documentation and understanding of those interactions to evaluate the impact of changes or additions as requested by our organization on a daily basis.
  • Work closely with management, other departments and customers to align development plans, and ensure effective integration among information systems and the UAMS IT infrastructure.
  • Monitor technological advancements in the market place to ensure that solutions are available to improve, support, and align our efforts with emerging business requirements.
  • Work with all other areas of the department to insure cross functional support, training, synergy and needs to support all department and company objectives.
  • Provides senior level tier support for UAMS Information Technology. Conducts tasks and assignments as directed.
  • Willingness to learn any IT processes required or assigned. Support Disaster Recovery efforts within our department.
  • As a senior in the department, must be willing to assist less experienced peers.
  • Works with minimal supervision.
  • This position participates in a group 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year on-call rotation where each member of the group takes call for 1 week at a time.
