Registered Nurse (RN)- Orthopedic Trauma Acute Care

3 West is a 33 bed Orthopedic Trauma and Medical Surgical Unit, we deliver high quality patient care in a fast-paced environment to patients across the young adult and adult life span. Our team is a dynamic group that works closely to provide excellent care to UMC's patients. The 3 west team prides itself in delivering specialized care for patients with planned joint replacements, orthopedic trauma, and patients who are admitted for other medical disease processes. Our unit fosters an energetic learning environment with a comprehensive orientation for new co-workers that uses interdisciplinary collaboration. As a team we like to make sure all our new co-workers are ready to provide excellent, compassionate, and service oriented care to our patient population. 3 west embodies “Service Is Our Passion” making us one big family and we pride ourselves in making all people feel welcome.

Registered professional nurse who assesses, implements or delegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy, providing and directing patient care for a group of patients. Relates effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care.

Qualifications:

-Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
-Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
-Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association
-BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire
-Med-Surg certification preferred and encouraged
