Registered Nurse (RN) Patient Logistics
PRN Varied Shifts

Departmental Description
The Patient Placement Center completes the admission process for all patients being admitted to University Medical Center from private Physician Clinics, Physician Network Services, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Emergency Center, and from other outlying facilities.

The Patient Placement Center enters patient demographics in IDX and verifies all private insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid to evaluate eligibility for each admission. The Patient Placement Center secures rooms for all admissions to University Medical Center. The Patient Placement Center serves all areas of Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and any other area requesting services at University Medical Center hospital.

The Patient Placement Center is staffed 24/7 with non-licensed and licensed personnel.
The Patient Placement Center consists of a Nursing Director, non-clinical staff who work as Patient Access Associates and Transfer Center specialists, and licensed nursing staff who work as Nursing/House Supervisors and Patient Placement Coordinators.


Responsibilities

Must maintain a current CPR certification from American Heart Association
Provides professional nursing care to patients and provides supervision and guidance to the members of the nursing staff.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job

Qualifications

-Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
-Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
-BSN Required
-Minimum of 5 years of RN experience
-Supervisor Experience Preferred
