Position Summary: 

Incumbent is responsible for all aspects of scheduling and registering of patients in the CDDC clinic.  Utilizes computer programs to verify eligibility, schedule and register patients, enter charges, obtain benefit information, and generate letters for authorizations.  Responds to Member Services and Call Center inquiries.  Manages medical record acquisition and distribution and communicates/coordinates with medical staff/case managers to resolve issues relating to scheduling of patients.  Educates clinical staff, physicians, and team members about the scheduling  process as appropriate.  Ensures the accuracy and presence of appropriate documentation for effective patient care.

Salary Range: 

 

Hourly Rate  Minimum   $28.88                  Midpoint              $28.88               Maximum $28.88

 

Required Qualifications:

 

 

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Demonstrated experience using MS Office

Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings

Previous experience with computer registration and registration scheduling system

Ability to interpret and understand various medical insurance plans and make accurate determinations regarding coverage

General knowledge of ICD9 and CPT codes

Must be able to travel to off site physician practices

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Must demonstrate general understanding of medical terminology

Minimum one (1) year recent experience (within past two (2) years) registering patients in a hospital or clinic, working as a Medical Assistant, or working in medical billing

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Demonstrated experience with authorization process and surgical scheduling

Bilingual in English and Spanish

Familiarity of Joint Commission standards

Experience with Epic

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
