Description

Job Summary

This position will provide executive-level support to the ADRC Medical Director, utilizing initiative, judgment, and discretion in researching, analyzing and compiling necessary information to assist the Medical Director in responding to complex issues and compiling special reports. As principal support, the position responds through verbal and/or written communication to a wide variety of stakeholders, including faculty, Neurology administration, Vice Chairs, Hospital Administration, the Executive Dean's Office, and multiple outside agencies, boards, and organizations. In this key position, the incumbent will provide support for special projects within the Center, including a large, centralized meeting portfolio. This position requires outstanding judgement, the ability to think out of the box, and also the ability to represent the Center professionally in all modalities.

Importantly, the Project Analyst is responsible for managing the Center's and Medical Directors complex calendar, organizing and facilitating internal and external meetings leading the communications across internal and external stakeholders, project management, reports, and ad hoc high-level projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in administration or related field and/or equivalent training
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in executive administrative support.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience executing executive projects.
  • Minimum 3 years of project management.
  • Demonstrated skills in analytical work.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication to convey complex topics.
  • Advanced understanding and experience using computer software, networks, and applications required to perform administrative and analytical work.
  • Organizational skills to coordinate large volumes of work and establish priorities.
  • Ability to work on projects with competing deadlines.
  • Flexibility in dealing with people and competing demands.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal and oral communication skills to handle sensitive or difficult situations diplomatically, and to work with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
  • Writing skills to draft informational materials for clear, concise dissemination, and to edit copy for correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CITI Program Course Certificate: Basic Human Subjects Research
  • Demonstrated knowledge of university policies and procedures.k
  • Experience using My NCBI for publication and grants management.
  • Knowledge of Research Performance Progress Report(s).
  • Experience with analytics, posting, and editing on a variety of social media and communication platforms.
  • UC Davis Experience.

Department Description

The Department of Neurology is a specialty department in the School of Medicine which supports the academic, clinical and research missions of the SOM. The UC Davis Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC), within the Department of Neurology, conducts research studies and clinical trials for the purpose of preventing or treating disease and other dementias.
