Position Summary: 

The Critical Care nurse is a Registered Nurse who provides individualized care to the critically ill patients and their families. Emphasis is on performing skills for a patient who is hemodynamically unstable or who requires specialized nursing care and monitoring equipment. The Registered Nurse is responsible for total care of their assigned patient(s) for the entire shift. The Critical Care Registered Nurse follows established guidelines by AACN in accordance with hospital and unit policies and procedures.

Salary Range: 

 

Hourly Rate  Minimum   $49.08   Midpoint               $61.29   Maximum $70.46

Required Qualifications:

 

Current California license and BLS

ACLS certification (or completion within 30 days of hire)

Completion of a Critical Care/pharmacology class (proof of course may be based on years of past experience in the Critical Care Setting)

Completion of a basic dysrhythmia course (proof of course may be based on years of past experience in the Critical Care setting)

Completion of a basic hemodynamic monitoring course (proof of course may be based on years of past experience in the Critical Care setting)

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

Membership in a professional organization

Basic computer skills. Two years recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care facility. One year recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a Critical Care unit.
