The Student Transition Programs (STP) department at The University of Texas at Dallas is excited to welcome a Coordinator of Transfer and Transitions to the team!
The Role The Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Transfer and Transition Programs and plays a key role in developing, organizing, and delivering high-quality programs that enhance and support student life and the overall university experience. This position collaborates closely on initiatives such as Transfer Orientation, Transfer Student Services, managing the UTD app, and Transition Programs, including the Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Year Experience. Responsibilities include overseeing key administrative tasks and supervising student employees to ensure the successful implementation of programs and services.
The Department
STP supports Freshman Orientation, Transfer Orientation, Transfer Student Services, Commuter Student Programs, Comet Families, Comet Camp, Transition Programming (Sophomore Year Experience, Junior Year Experience, and Senior Year Experience), and the UTD App.
Mission of STP
In support of the mission of The University of Texas at Dallas and the Division of Student Affairs, Student Transition Programs facilitates the transition of new students and their families into the institution and provides programs, services, and involvement opportunities specific to first-year students, transfer students, commuter students, the families of students, sophomores, juniors, and seniors as they evolve throughout their education. Through a welcoming atmosphere, we provide the framework for students to learn and develop as they adjust to the expectations, standards, and academic rigors of the university while fostering pride in the UT Dallas community.

Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree.
One (1) or more years related work experience.
An equivalent level of education and/or experience is acceptable.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Student Development, Counseling, or related discipline.
- Experience with orientation and/or previous experience with programming and promoting events for college populations.
- 1-2 years of demonstrated success advising college students, developing student leaders, and advising students.
- Demonstrated success in event planning and management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills as well as customer service.
- Experience in networking across departments and programs.
- Adaptable in fast-paced environments.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and perform work with a high degree of accuracy over extended periods.
- Ability to demonstrate awareness of marketing initiatives or event promotion strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to -
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise student workers, volunteers, and interns.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate Transfer and Transition events and activities, such as Transfer Orientation, Year Experiences, workshops, and leadership development programs such as the Transfer Student Leadership Program.
- Assist in developing and executing comprehensive orientation programs and initiatives that support and provide resources for new and continuing students.
- Support the management and training of department platforms such as the UTD app.
- Assist with promotional and marketing strategies, including managing social media and website content.
- Handle logistical and operational tasks in support of students, programs and events, and department initiatives.
- Contribute to the support of department initiatives such as student leader development, recognition, morale-building efforts, and other department programs and events.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with student affairs, academic departments, student organizations, and external professional organizations.
- Represent the department at various community and/or university committees and task forces, promoting existing and new opportunities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and University goals.
