Description

The Linux Enterprise Engineer III is an advanced-level technical position responsible for providing departmental or campus-wide support to ensure optimum performance and connectivity of IT systems. This includes hardware, software, databases, storage, and network components in on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments. The role involves leading the troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues, as well as the design and implementation of new systems and services. The Linux Enterprise Engineer III will also manage projects, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and collaborate with other departments to ensure the successful deployment of new systems and services. Tools used include bash, vi, git, openssl, Terraform, and advanced networking and security tools.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of related experience and
  • Relevant certifications, such as Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA), Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Linux Professional Institute LPIC-3.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, develop solutions, resolve incidents & problems
  • Provision, deploy, administer, monitor, maintain, upgrade, and patch systems
  • Architect and implement systems and services, manage projects
  • Complete service requests, provide customer support
  • Create and update documentation
  • Develop technical and personal skills
