Division Chief General Internal Medicine-
West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seek a board-certified internist to serve as Division Chief.
This position will provide leadership and oversight of the General Internal Medicine Division. The successful candidate may practice in the areas of inpatient and outpatient medicine. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in the teaching of medical students and residents. Opportunities exist to participate in clinical and translational research, as well as participate in quality research.
Appropriate candidates will be qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. This position will be expected to practice in the primary location of Morgantown, WV, and will also be expected to supervise services at satellite clinical sites in the state of West Virginia and additional sites to be determined based on expansion and growth of our services and sites.
Our division currently includes 31 physicians and four advanced practice professionals, and is actively involved in several core residency programs and medical student education. Clinical programs the Division is engaged in include a large faculty and resident-based primary care clinic at two locations, Medical Weight Management Program, Sports Medicine Clinic, six academic teaching inpatient teams, and a comprehensive Transitions of Care Program that serves the entire institution.
Qualifications: applicants must have a MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must be board certified in internal medicine at the time of appointment. A minimum of three years of experience required. Established evidence of academic and/or administrative achievements is a plus. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
