West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seek an Infectious Diseases physician (ranks available: Assistant Professor or Associate Professor or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of adult Infectious Diseases (ID). Clinical responsibilities will include a mix of ID inpatient, outpatient and telehealth service. An important component of this position is helping to support and expand our Musculoskeletal ID consult service and also follow up in outpatient combined ID/Orthopedic clinic. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Candidate will also be expected to participate in scholarly activities.

The ID Division has 14 faculty with diverse expertise, skills, and experience. We also have excellent APPs who work closely with ID faculty and fellows. The ID Division is recognized for valuable contributions to all our missions, education, service and scholarship. Many faculty have won teaching awards not only locally and regionally but also nationally. Areas of expertise/focus include health care epidemiology, musculoskeletal infections, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B, C, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Transplant ID, OPAT, and COpAT. ID Division has an active fellowship program with 100% ID Board pass rate.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed an Internal Medicine Residency Program as well as infectious diseases fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board certified/eligible in infectious diseases. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
