The HR Generalist will support day-to-day HR functions for multiple departments within NYK Group Americas Inc. The HR Generalist will act as support to the HR Senior Manager and HR Director assisting with various human resources tasks including but not limited to the execution of employment changes and entries into the HR system, on-boarding/off-boarding of employees including I-9 completion and Exit Discussions, Recruiting, billing and employee benefit support.

  • Manage the on-boarding process including all pre-employment requirements.
  • Generate promotion, salary adjustment, termination, and other human resources letters.
  • Oversee transactions in the human resources information systems including position changes, terminations, leave of absence etc.
  • Provide front-line support to employees and managers who have human resources related inquiries such as clarification of company policies, time reporting, benefits questions, etc.
  • Complete human resources data requests and reporting to support various HR initiatives.
  • Work with employees at all levels to guide them on how to use human resources systems as needed.
  • Support the company's mid-year review and annual performance review process. This might include employee support of performance goals, creating on-demand reports, reviewing training materials, and assisting with communications.
  • Handle all leave requests, work with disability vendors and communicate with employees regarding status.
  • Assist employees with timesheet questions.
  • Process invoices in expense tool.
  • Responsible for processing benefits changes during open enrollment and the administration of all benefits.
  • Assist with ad-hoc HR reporting requests.
  • Support various human resources projects and implementations as needed.
  • Support annual HR and Payroll audits
  • Ability to use a computer for tasks such as communicating via email, preparing reports, working in various software systems including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work during normal business hours (7 hours per day) and in the office 5 days per week with the ability to also work a hybrid schedule with some virtual work-from-home as determined by Management.
  • Available for any calls with Tokyo HR after hours.
  • Review and analyze data and requests to support leadership.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures

PREFERRED EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree required with a major in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Psychology or Business is preferred. 

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 2 -4 years human resources experience required.
  • Experience working with a human resources information system such as UKG (Ultipro) a plus.
  • Skilled and Proficient in MS including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel.
  • Strong communication and organization skills required.
