Job Description:
The New Model Programs (Launch and Prototype) organization within Ford Global Product Development and Quality is seeking a proactive Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Software Engineer, you will play a vital role in managing applications and servers responsible for conducting plant testing, collecting test results, and transmitting data to corporate repositories. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to future product development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, code, test, and deploy software capabilities, reports, and dashboards using various infrastructure and technology platforms, including both cloud-based and on-premises systems.
  • Migrate existing applications to Google Cloud Platform or other cloud-based architectures.
  • Develop responsive web and mobile applications that are compatible across different screen sizes.
  • Provide emergency production support for applications hosted in both cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Collaborate with end users to deliver innovative solutions that meet their needs.
  • Build entire features across all layers (UI/UX, database, services) and develop new REST services.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related field, or within 1 year of obtaining Bachelor's Degree (and enrolled in courses).
  • 3+ years of experience in application design and development, with a preference for JavaScript, Visual Basic, ColdFusion, or similar languages.
  • Proven ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and thrive in a challenging environment.
  • Experience working within an Agile development cycle and delivering on commitments.
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English and the ability to engage effectively with end users.
  • Previous experience in roles such as Coder/Developer, Database Administrator, or Quality Assurance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Migration experience with Google Cloud Platform, Azure, or similar cloud architectures.
  • Proficiency in Oracle database analytical queries and database management.
  • Expertise in coding and debugging issues with JavaScript/Node.js, Visual Basic, ColdFusion, Python, CSS, and/or HTML.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and experience writing ANSI-standard SQL queries.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and quality review software/implementation.
  • Experience with deployment/CI/CD tools and configuration.
